Servings: 4 servings
- 1 bunch of broccoli (8 oz, give or take)
- 1-2 TBSP sesame oil
- 2-3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp freshly grated ginger
- Sea salt, to taste
- 2 TBSP water
- 2 tsp Sesame seeds, preferably toasted
Heat the oil in a sauté pan or wok over medium heat. Add the garlic and ginger and simmer for 30 seconds.
Add the broccolini to the pan with a pinch of salt and toss to coat, letting the broccolini simmer for about 2 minutes.
Add a splash of water to the pan (about 2 TBSP). Cover the pan, reduce the heat to medium-low, and simmer for 3-5 minutes or until the broccolini is bright green and tender, stirring it occasionally.
Transfer the broccolini to a serving platter and spoon any pan sauce and garlic bits on top. Garnish with sesame seeds and enjoy!
Oil—You can use olive oil in place of sesame if you prefer to not have the sesame flavor. You’ll still get that lovely garlic ginger flavor in!
Butter—Feel free to add a knob or two of butter to the pan along with the oil for a rich and smooth touch
To toast sesame seeds, simply toss them into a dry pan and heat them over medium-low heat. Let them toast for about 3-5 minutes or until golden in color are aromatic.
