Deconstructed California Bowl
A light, fresh and crisp salad made up of flavours that sushi lovers will crave.
- 1 cucumber cut into noodle form (using a Veggetti or peeler and knife)
- 1 teaspoon Kikkoman soy sauce more to taste if desired
- 1/2 teaspoon of sesame oil
- 1/4 teaspoon of wasabi paste
- 1/2 cup imitation crab sliced into bite size pieces
- 1 ripe avocado sliced
- 2 tablespoons of toasted sesame seeds
- 1 handful of seaweed strips
Toast the sesame seeds in a pan on medium-low heat for approx. 10 minutes or until seeds are golden.
In a small bowl, whisk together the Kikkoman soy sauce, sesame oil and wasabi paste.
Drizzle the soy sauce mixture over the cucumber noodles and toss to coat.
Place in a bowl or on a plate and top with avocado slices, cut up crab, strips, and strips of seaweed.
Drizzle with more Kikkoman soy sauce if desired.
When the sesame seeds are nicely toasted, sprinkle them over the salad.
