The Best Homemade Salsa and Guacamole Combo Ever

The Best Homemade Salsa and Guacamole Combo Ever | Killing ThymeThe Best Homemade Salsa and Guacamole Combo Ever – bold statement, right? Well, I’m that sure about it!

The salsa is based on Tyler Florence’s Salsa Fresca. I’ve adapted it because he puts cilantro in his and, in my world, cilantro is a ruiner of all things nice – so I omit it. If you’re into cilantro, then sprinkle it in. The original recipe is here.

The Best Homemade Salsa and Guacamole Combo Ever | Killing ThymeThe reason this guac needs to be made along with this salsa is because a few spoonfuls of the salsa go into the guac. The marriage of the two is undeniably delicious and I can no longer imagine my guac any other way. In the words of Dr. Steve Brule – holy guacamole! (If you get that reference, we’re automatically friends).

January 8, 2016 at 12:31 pm I recently introduced my family to guacamole and they loved it! My daughter was begging for "more waucamole". Too cute. I'll have to try out your version. I like how you used the homemade salsa in your waucamole. ;)

January 8, 2016 at 2:38 pm "Waucamole" - adorable. Way to get her hooked on healthy eats early on! I hope you and your little one enjoy this version! It's bittersweet for me, because though homemade salsa and guac are healthier treats, all of those Tostitos I'm eating with them can't be. (Sad trumpet sound)
